ChampionChip...
Easy as 1...2...3...4

The New England Triathlon Tour will once again feature state-of-the-art electronic technology that will streamline our race timing function.  Simply follow these easy steps:

  1. During the bib number pick-up process on race weekend, you will be issued a black, 1-1/2 inch round, plastic device threaded through a Velcro strap.  The device contains a computer chip assigned to your number.  We will refer to the plastic device as a ‘chip’...produced by a company named ChampionChip.

  2. First chance on race morning, affix the chip/strap securely to your leg just above either ankle. The flat part of the chip will rest against the skin...with the raised part facing out. The chip/strap may even go under the ‘pant’ leg of your wetsuit.

  3. The chip/strap must be worn from the start of the swim through the run finish line.  No chip...no time...simple. Volunteers will direct you over chip transmitter mats after the swim...on the run out...and at the finish.  Failure to run over these designated mats will result in missing split times.

  4. Time Out! staff will collect your chip/strap assembly at the end of the finish line chutes.

OF VITAL IMPORTANCE: The chip AND Velcro strap is a complete unit and is not a throw-away item...nor is it a race amenity that you can keep as a gift.  It is an expensive item that must be turned in once you finish each race (or if you drop out of the race at any point).  Following the race, if we have identified your chip/strap as missing, you will be charged $35...it will be our word against yours for the turn-in.  If you drop out of the race, return your equipment to the end-of-chute chip collection staff.

BUY YOUR OWN CHIP: e-mail us at Info@timeoutproductions.com  if your are interested in buying your own (yellow) chip, which can be used for any road race, triathlon, worldwide, that is timed using the ChampionChip system!
