Bring The Following Items To The Race

First and most important - Positive attitude!

  • Swim suit (wetsuits are permitted at all Cape Cod Sprints as water temperatures fall under the 78 degree USAT non-wetsuit limit) and goggles.

  • Bike, in prime working order. Traditional bikes are acceptable (road, mountain, hybrid...but not recumbent) as long as they meet rule 5.11 Bicycle Specifications of the USA Triathlon Competitive Rules book. Do not assume that race bike mechanics will be able to overhaul your machine!' All handlebar ends must be tapped with bar end plugs (obtain from your local bike shop).

  • Footwear for comfortable cycling

  • Helmet which meets current impact test safety standards. Check the inside styro lining of your helmet for the safety sticker.

  • Bike tire pump or Quick-Fill CO2 cartridges.

  • Bike cage water bottles.

  • Running shoes.

  • Clothing for biking and running.

  • Sunscreen.

  • Towel.

  • Money - To pay for late registration on race weekend, USA Triathlon single-event license (for those not carrying a $39 full-year USA Triathlon license), off-site parking where fees may be charged.

  • USA Triathlon Annual Membership Card. We recommend that you buy one if you plan to compete in at least 3 races throughout the year. Only other option: pay the $10 USAT single-event license fee at each race. For details. contact USA Triathlon at 719-597-9090.
